Apple Cider

Dan Condie has a cider press that his grandfather built.  Wyn bought 100's of pounds of Gala apples and we came over for a Saturday of making fresh apple cider.  And boy, that was the most amazing apple cider I've ever had.  Mmmm!

Even Great grandma came to help out

Here are our apple washers.  Brynlee was Grandpa's helper.

How about some apple to garnish your apple cider?

Young Living Farm in Mona, Utah

My sister, Shan'l was in town from out of state, and so we took a day trip down to Mona, Utah to visit the Young Living family farms there.  We had a picnic lunch on their beautiful grounds and toured the facilities.  We learned all about how Young living distills their Essential Oils.

 Check out Jaeda.

We took a wagon ride tour of the farm

We took an educational tour of their distillery.

Here is one of their huge distillers.

I could have spent a lot more time there.  They had beautiful grounds to explore, and educational garden where all sorts of flowers and herbs were growing.  There were signs that explained how the herb is used medicinally.  They had a cute store inside the house with all sorts of essential oils you could smell, accessories, and books.  They had a big jousting ring, I guess they use during lavender days.  I though that might be interesting to see.

Ian's Barbeque

For a scout requirement, Ian had to plan and follow through with an outdoor meal.  We documented this event.  I am happy to report that no one was hurt, burnt, scalded, or poisoned during this adventure.  It's nice when your children exceed your expectations.

Pinewood Derby 2010

I wasn't able to make it to Ian's last Pinewood Derby, but Rick was a trooper and took all the kids.
It looks like Brother Francom pitched in and took care of Jaeda

Here Ian is, holding his car, waiting his turn.

Looks like he did well this time.  3rd Place!  I'm not sure if you noticed how large our cub scout den is, but I dare-say there were over 30 participants.

The winning TEAM!

Jaeda starts Kindergarten

August 31, 2010

Jaeda insisted she ride her bike to school like the other kids do.  No, she still cannot ride a 2-wheeler bike but was perfectly happy to ride her tricycle to school.  By the way her knees were knocking the handlebars, I think it's time to graduate to a bike.

Here she is with her teacher Miss Mellor

I'm always so excited for them, and secretly excited for me, but by-gum, find my self crying on my way home every time.
